Walk around Weeip Park and explore Backyard Biodiversity artwork

  • Weeip Park 35 The Crescent Midland, WA, 6056 Australia (map)

Looking for something to do with the family this school holidays?

The Environmental Art Project presented by Mundaring Arts Centre Inc. provides an annual opportunity for primary school children to creatively engage with local and global environmental issues, whilst developing their own positive message about protecting the earth.

The theme of the 2022 Environmental Art Project, Backyard Biodiversity, challenges teachers, students and parents to look closely at nature and discover, observe and monitor the animals that live in our local area.

In its 21st year, this year over 1,900 entries were received from 22 schools around Perth.

Ten entries below have been selected to be transformed into a walking trail in Weeip Park from now until mid 2023.

So bring the family to the oval and have a walk around the concrete internal path to find and read the 10 winning entries – a fun activity that encourages positive messages about our local environment.

Visit https://www.enviroartproject.com.au/ for more details about this creative project, and access the 2022 Environmental Education Pack and video tutorials.
